I too would like to know. They certainly sound like something I could get into a lot of trouble with!
There are moles and there are moles. Basic pointed case mole is just a piston hitting the end and taking the mole forward, these are really bad news because the point deflects on any hard spots very easily and there is no reverse, I wouldn't use this type but its the most common and the type that get folk into the most trouble, basically they work or you have lost them.
The ones we have reverse and use a stepped cone nose that also hammers separately, these rarely get deflected and bludgeon virtually anything they come up against, they also have the duct pulling attachment on them, with the duct in the hole behind the mole it stays open and reverse/recovery is really simple. I will take a few more snaps of the two types and attachments, they are not all the same, the big one we have was north of 13k twenty years ago so that definitely wont be getting left behind
