for the past 6.5yr i been using a company provided 9100mp with xx adf. so far its been tuff as nails. original hinges and headgear etc. used in every weather condition. the reliability of this mask is off the chart. never once has it broke down and left me stranded. but recently the boss said i can get what ever supplies i need from the local welding store so i started thinking. mp is a bit heavy for obvious reasons and i have no need for over head protection. why bother lumping around all that extra weight if im not taking advantage of its abilities. so i had the local weld store order me a fx air model (never tried one before) with no adf. surely its lighter and i can tranfer my mp xx adf to it (adf still works perfect). problem is 3m doesnt offer the fx air anymore but with some research we found we could order the necesarry parts seperatly and i assemble it myself. mask , airduct , cloth face seal. used it first time today and its a nice mask. lighter for sure. ive got the longer extended cloth head cover on order to keep sparks off my back head and neck
