8 inch wire wheel

I was finally expecting to receive an 8 inch wire wheel this morning but instead I get a message from the seller suggesting a problem with my postcode (which hasn't changed in the 20 years I have been here). I note the seller must have cut+paste the address to get away from eBays new integrated (captive) post system. I'm guessing he's swapped the from/to addresses because he claims the item arrived at his address this morning!

So far so what? Well, this is a quest because it is the third time in a row an eBay 8inch wire wheel has failed to materialise. The first two simply didn't turn up, I'm guessing drop shipping sellers just didn't have the item they were purporting to be selling.

Dammit, what's going on here? Is this fate? I have a fabulous Creusen bench grinder but have now spent weeks trying and failing to find a wire wheel for it.

If you get stuck try these guys, a few years back I went there to do a job on their server and ended up buying a load different brushes. They are in the middle of nowhere but list a huge amount of brushes, wire wheels come in dozens of configurations,stainless steel,brass, steel etc. Not if they deal direct but when I was there they were happy do so. I'd bet money that they have multiple variants.

Still no contact from seller. I bet he put his own address as for delivery and will want to charge me postage again.

Ordered 3rd, expected delivery tomorrow, actually delivered back to him today. If there's any mucking about, I just need to see proof of postage. I know my address is correct (!) and (like me) he has chosen not to use the built in eBay postage/hostage application.

It is a bit fiddly (I'm not saying difficult) to avoid the new sign-me-up-for-monthly-payments nonsense but whenever you click "print postage", it takes you to their new "use our postage" system. Naturally you can cut+paste address info easily enough but then you rely on the third party website to organise the correct sender/recipient.

That's just a guess of course. Obviously I have never accidentally filled out my own address as recipient...

But even that is not the problem The problem is 1. I am stone broke and 2. desperately need a wire wheel!

This is happening far too often now.

EBay need to at least differentiate between UK postage and using the UK postage system.
You used to be able to see where it was being shipped from but now its impossible to know.

That said sellers are now hiding behind ebays estimated date of delivery which adds two days on.

I paid at 2pm wednesday for a 48 hour delivery item delivery (listing states in stock for immediate dispatch).

I asked for a tracking number and the reply was its been dispatched its on target for the estimated delivery times.
I cant buy it locally as they have driven the local shops to not carry stock and THEY need to get it shipped to them before its in stock.

Well clearly it has his address on it. The postal system doesn't operate that quickly when it comes to returning undelivered items. I think it can take up to two weeks. As you say, ask for photographic proof by way of the certificate of postage.

Oh I know "it happens". Here's one I am still waiting for one "today".

Won't say what it is or who it's from, we canceled the transaction and the seller (a chap on here) did the honourable thing and gave me a refund.

All I will say is: "Got the swag, kept the money. Job well done. That's a fact. That is a fact."
