ive got another pack that someone has donated me. these rods are god rods but they are low hyrogen, they like to pick up moisture. ive tried to bake them in the oven for an hour but still losing ark and fizzing. should i try less heat? any input would be great. cheers

You will need a fairly high OCV to burn 7018 have you two settings on your welder if transformer type or are you using an inverter

50v and 80 v is that what you mean as im fairlt new to this. cheers

80+ volts, if you have the option, you may have to bake the rods for longer/

What temp did you bake them at?

Gas Mark 5, 20 minutes per pound, plus 20 minutes

i baked 10 rods at gas mark 5 for 1 hour, i only done 10 just in case i bugger them up. cheers

Try gas 8 for 1.5 hrs, tis only a guestimate rods peeps state, C deg + time = /Gas Mark + time =

PS: time to invest in one of these, handy for lunch also

ive got a small oven in the garage. the wife wont let me put my rods in her oven oh well
