I could use some advice, I have not done much welding before. I can do poor looking welds but strong *if* I have the settings right.
Im using a sealey mightymig 130XT, with 0.8mm gasLESS wire
Power = Min or Max? 1 or 2?
Wirefeed = 1-10?
I have 7 snapped exhaust studs each have about 10-15mm protruding. Plan is to MIG weld nuts onto them. They are quite stuck.
Ive only got a 1kw butane torch to head the head. Ive sprayed a lot of penetrating oil on.
My first attempts wouldnt stick to the stud but the one that did was too deformed for a socket, and the weld still broke first with waterpump pliers
Any tips how to do it without melting the nut?
How to get more heat into the stud?
Thanks
