6mm + 3/16th

can any one tell me is there much diffence between 6mm and 3/16.

i have just had a pipe on my classic break which is 6mm. i have in my gararge a 3/16 copper brake pipe , just thought i would ask on here before driving the 10 miles to my gararge to find it,

the pipe is not under pressure as it guides the hot air from the exhaust manifold to the automatic choke.

the original pipe is steel, do you think that the copper pipe might allow the air to cool down to much before it gets to the choke.

any thoughts on this?

i would use a tape messure to see the difference but that is in the gararge as well.

The metric to imperial conversion inches to mm is 25.4

25.4 divide 16
x3
= 4.76mm

thanks hitch m8. think i will go to wilco tomoz morning and see if they have any 6mm in stock.

pity i cannot do it tonight as i have sold it and they are comming round tomoz afternoon to collect it,

that sounds about right as it is soldered one end and the end that go into the exhaust manifold is a push fit.

i wish i had found this last week, its going to be a rush to get it done before they get here to collect the car, i would like to get it done rather than let them drive away in it only to find out later that there is a fault with the pipe

If its a classic I would guess that its imperial not mm.
