No mate, the longer belt allows the idler to swing up slightly to clear the dizzy cap.

Hahaha, If only I could mate, thats the problem with one off stuff, there is no quick get out with it, once I get the 59" belt it will fit fine. As I said to Sue last night "Its amazing the difference 2 inches makes"

Was gonna leave my Art Carr manual TH400 in black but it looked s***e against the motor so out with the die grinder and wire brushes and its ready for paint







Didn't take long to splash a bit of colour on it, much happier with it now

Well its took long enough but the motor is finally in place in the car, what with holidays and rainy days etc etc it seems to have taken an age to get it in place, its a 2 man job as its a painted and detailed motor and on the nice days there was never anybody around to help.
Anyway step forward my old mucker Brian Lucas who helped out big time today, a couple of hours and we had the sucker in










Everything went well except for one valve cover needs slight modification due to being too close to the firewall, they have never been tried on the motor in the car but its an easy fix

We also reconfigured the blower idler for more belt wrap and the idler is now on the left.
