True story: one of the blokes on the course is doing it because he put himself in hospital making an illicit connection for a "covert basement smallholding" and wanted to learn to do it properly.
(And hire himself out to other 'entrepreneurs')

i must admit ive used both hole saws on 4" plastic drain pipe often but do really prefer the stepdrill cuts so easily when needed and still can yank out of your hands on both of them

I use the screwdriver clutch on the milwaukee m18.
Set on full, it stops it wrenching if it properly catches

That's the problem with 'low-lifes', you can't rely on them to make a proper job of it - another one slips through Darwin's net.

Tbh, for smaller sizes (35mm), it cuts through as fast as i can push it - as fast as a 35mm holesaw, and no stopping to struggle clearing the cutout - which gets even older, even faster.

Downsides: no useful PVCdiscs (which are ok as load spread washers or to make drum rollers (500 holes already, don't forget!)), and OMG! the swarf. (although i added some of the swarf to a batch of concrete as reinforcing, and it did seem to make a difference [1])
