Been a very naughty boyWhat did you do to take out the service fuse?

Actually very stupid mistake. Trying to please averyone as usual... Will update later but just stopped to check replies.Been a very naughty boy![]()
I have a drone... Lolstrap 2 pieces of 30 amp fusewire to one or solder them on to get you away till monday and wholesalers open. i have some but nowhere near you
At least it's not the same reason my neighbours fuse got 'lost' after 4 days of drum and bass til 5am...surprising how annoyed someone can get after waking up at 4pm to find they haven't had power since 7am and aren't likely to get it back any time soonActually very stupid mistake. a lass i knew was getting fed up of telling her upstairs neighbor to turn down the music at night to no avail. the leccy supply meters were next to her flat in a cupboardI used to stay over with a girl who lived in an HMO. Another girl used to live upstairs. She would come home p*ssed at about midnight, turn her stereo on full blast and then go to sleep. Somehow her power always used to get turned off......
i showed her which was the isolator to the flat above, he was regularly getting 15 minute power cuts for a few weeks
and never worked it out ,the leccy board couldnt see anything wrong nietherRather a very stupid old bloke. I purchased a brand new pair of VDE long nose pliers so i could put a live and a Neutral into wagos. (2 wagos i was not that stupid)Been a very naughty boy![]()

I unscrewed the live with a VDE screwdriver and using the long nose pliers i had the wago in another pair of pliers ready to put the live into it.
BUT and its why I have never worked on a live socket before i accidently touched the earth and the insulation on the live must have been compromised. It tripped the 30amp trip BUT it also took out the main fuse..

OK, I'm nosey enough to ask. Why were you doing this?Rather a very stupid old bloke. I purchased a brand new pair of VDE long nose pliers so i could put a live and a Neutral into wagos. (2 wagos i was not that stupid)

couldnt be arsed to go turn it offOK, I'm nosey enough to ask. Why were you doing this?
It sounds like whatever you were working on was after the consumer unit, so I cant see any reason to be working on something that's live, or am I missing something?
i regularly replace sockets and switches working live . by the time the punter shows where the db is and empty the cupboard to get to it the jobs done

im 71 and still here and workingWhenever I was working on control panels I would isolate them, I sometimes got the comment "why do you do that?, others don't" my stock reply was "I'm an old electrician and I plan to get older"
did a live connect today fitting henley blocks and cutting some mains tails to an extra dbdont do it to save a punter money. i get paid for an hour even if im there ten minutes and quite often you need the power on to test the wiring to see where the fault is . no diffrent to doing live cable jointingThink you would be hard pressed to find somebody who hasn't worked live at some point even if nobody would admit it, but there is seldom good reason for it. When it's your life on the line for the benefit of not inconveniencing somebody else, you also really have to question why you are doing it.
