Hi
I'm new to welding and I'm just getting kitted out so I can start practising.
I've got a '72 Jensen Healey that has plenty of rust what needs sorting out once I get up to speed with the Clarke.
Just wondering - is there any point in me getting .6mm wire for a Clarke 160tm, or should I go for .8mm?
Panels are about 1mm so would I just end up blowing holes if I went for .8mm wire? The manual says .8mm can't be used on lowest voltage and wire feed speeds.
On the other hand, what thickness would .6mm wire let me weld? I'm guessing the chassis rails arn't going to be much more than 3mm max.
Cheers.
