5kg spools

New to mig welding and have purchased a 5kg spool of Sif sg2.

When I started stick welding people told me to buy a good brand rod ,

Esab , fincords and murex etc.
Just wanting to know what 'good' brand wire is out there . I've had a look and i think I'm fairly limited due to having a machine that takes 5kg spools.

Does anybody know of any ?
Has anyone used the Sif sg2 before?

Get mine from EngWeld in 5kg spools.

Buy the EWM wire from their shop in Morpeth, good stuff and if you collect in person there will be no postage costs.

ESAB, Lincoln etc all the big names should be good (and likely come from the same plant) just avoid the cheaper stuff without the big names, even if it might also be the same you can bet they buy from various and choose the cheapest on the day to badge up.

I have just started using EWM wire,Always used Lincoln previously.The EWM is great wire too,

I'd probably go for EWM or Lincoln if I could find it out here, I got some Esab and that is good, oddly enough, I have some Super 6, and have had no problems at all with it, but a lot of chaps say its not very good, so I would not reccomend it.
If you do get the EWM as advised by Jim, or the Lincoln/Esab, let us know how you find it compared to the Sif.

Yeah will do i need to buy some 0.6 wire so i will buy some of the ewm stuff and let you know
