Ah so we cant use that coupon code as yours is already for 3 PC.
Mine was for 1 so it will cost me 21 quid for the 3 machine licence...
This is due an update on how things went but for now I need to get corel on both machines. I was using a very old version 4 I think but the disc just wont load now so I thought I better get updated . I remembered someone posted a link in here to cheap windows etc so I looked for Corel but they dont sell that.
DOes anyone know where Corel can be had at a sensible price. I dont mind if its 2015 onwards as the last I saw was they want monthly payments in the later versions.

So as a result of this thread I bought a Crucial MX500 SSD 2.5" which was supposed to fit my SFF (mini) desktop Optiplex 380 according to Crucial but doesn't because it has a 3.5" HDD drive mounted in a clip on fan mount (lousy pic is unit lying on it's side with the drive at the back.) no screws. There are several different types of adapter on ebay, anyone point me at the correct one please as most seem to be for full size desktops. Thanks!

my reply was only partly tongue in cheek.
I *have* actually used builders band to hold drives in pc cases.
for me, it's one of those "always on hand" items - like superglue, 3in1 oil, and IKEA pencils.

Well this is tuning out to be a right pain.
Made up a mount for the SSD OK (alu composite sheet and a wire tie)
Discover that if you have a dual boot machine True Image is not as simple as the Crucial sales spiel makes out.
First created a live USB version of True image - having discovered that the SW will not work unless you have a special connector to plug your Crucial disk into the USB port, then dig out an old external hard drive, "backup" the whole disk to that for a couple of hours, verify it is all ok, swap in the SSD to the PC the "restore" the whole disk to it and an hour later... "FAILED" - yes that helpful!
Hmm .. re-do the whole lot again - another 3+hrs .. "FAILED" again - found the log file "Format/resize error" on one of the partitions.
Right, ignoring the "recommended" way I plug the SSD into a USB port, boot the live USB and do a clone direct from the HDD direct to the SSD - this took 3 hrs before helpfully informing me that it ... "FAILED" same error.
So now going to faff around with the partition sizes (the HDD is 70GB larger than SSD but data used is smaller than 250GB), and also delete the Linux swap file before trying again as that might be causing the issue.
I may be some time...

I too had fun and games this week adding an additional SSD to mirror the system disc. Fortunately I bought a copy of AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro, not cheap at £54, but boy has that saved my life. Once I'd worked out how I was going to do the clone it all worked very quickly and easily.

all i did was initalise the hard drive and did a clone using acronis its the startup point where i forget to set as this makes your hard drive size bigger
i went from a 120gd ssd to a 250ssd the other system was upgraded from 35gb up to a 120gb ssd
however i have not tried to clone a dual boot system before myself

you need to do a sector copy. AOMEI gives options for Copying the complete surface or just the data. It also allows for easy resizing. I've never used Acronis, always used Ghost which was pretty easy to use, but nowhere as versatile as AOMEI, at least, not the 2003 version.

Did sector copies - still broken.
The advice on the Acronis forum was to use Clonezilla instead as TI cant handle re-sizing EXT 4 - Alternatively try reducing the partition sizes, which I did with Gparted so TI did not have to resize. I also removed the swap file and installed Swapspace instead http://pqxx.org/development/swapspace/
and a few hours later ... it works! Only took 2 days of faff!
[EDIT] Swapspace is available in the Mint software repository - installed with no set up and you can watch it create, increase, decrease and remove a swap file on system monitor as required. Great bit of kit - added 4Gb of free disk space for nothing.
