Does 50/51mm ID tube with around 10mm wall exist? I could do with some for a trailer project.
I have been told that 50/51mm tube ID is more like 3" nominal (or something to that effect)
50/51mm is 2-ish inches so with a 10mm wall either side you would be getting towards 3inch external diameter.
WTF sort of trailer is it though if it needs 10mm wall thickness tube? I re-made the chassis for our 6x4 trailer out of 3mm wall thickness square section and it's way OTT. It tows lovely though since it no longer bounces around when you haven't got much in it.
The axle the hubs are mounted to, appear to be a solid tube. So I was going to cut the tube in half, slip both sections into the new tube and get the ends welded up. I want to extend the width to about the same as my Landy.
Makes sense. Have you considered using something like one of those mini transit van thingummy rear axles? Might be a possible option if there's one in a scrappers.
the pipe has got bends and sets in but without getting the tape out there is 8ft straight length and a couple about 4 ft. I in Penrith the pipe i at work 3miles south of scotland (but you would need to swim) the pipe can relocate
