2wd and 70 years old, there's not many places she can't go.

went round the next doors with the animals she was low on veg for her and the animals so we cleared out half of our fridge to stop her going up the shops shes in her 80s down where i am sunday should be better

I have Jag x type 2.5 awd and it's brilliant in the snow and if I give it beans I can still get the back end to drift. Although I'm to sensible to do that at my age

Yes I remember the first winter when I had the Quattro. Thinks 'What happens if I floor it in second on thick snow?' she shot ahead very quickly 'Ooooo that is good', next thought 'AGGGGG a roundabout', fortunately nothing to give way to, just kept a bit of power on and got round. Next thought ' I must remember to think further ahead if I do that again'.....

I remember going to look at a Quattro, with a pal along for company. I was VERY tempted and might have bought it, then he said "Come on, it's time we went home and left that thing here" Me: "WHY??" Him: "You'll just kill yourself with it".......

It was exactly like this, even down to the colour

Tornado red, they still look fantastic. (IMO)
All that engine hanging out infront of the wheels does not help with the understeer when things are going wrong.

That would have been the Sport model [and undoubtedly further factory-tuned/fettled for him as a 'works' car] with short wheelbase and lots more power. You try buying one of those now, we're talking 6-figures, e.g

Yah!!! signs of the snow turning soft and it's currently making a mix if snow and fine drizzle.

Just hope this isn't the start of the freezing rain they're predicting to be the next problem.. Must clear the 2' wall in front of the car tomorrow, before it freezes solid and the whole thing becomes even worse - I might have made it out through the snow with some shovelling, but an iceberg......nah!

Aye, but he was probably right.

A nephew bought a quattro saloon and, being young and stupid, thought one dark winter night "I wonder how this copes with snow and ice". He found out by shooting off the road and [luckily] ended up straddling a road-side ditch. He didn't realise this until he opened the door and got out, falling 5 feet into the bottom of the water-filled ditch.......... Lucky boy, but cue MUCH mickey-taking, esp as he'd attended one of Audi's driver training courses when he first got it .......

Stupidity's in the genes, I reckon.

Pretty sure she raced pikes peak hill climb also.

Have been waiting years for a bit of snow, took it out 1st chance.
Had fun clearing the snow off with a few kids. Perfect snowball fight.

Hes romanian and his english isnt amazing so when he rang me, all he said was front tyre not vertical, i thought maybe its just bent a little .. not hanging off
Im sure he got a nice bill for recovery.
