4" tyres how the do you get them on the rims?

Got a tyre off a lawnmower and went to put the tyre back and no way can I get
the first side on enough to start levering it on. Is there some trick or what.

4.10x4 tyre.

Lots of lube I did one on a jockey wheel and they are a bit tight.

Flat head screwdrivers, you need really strong thumbs, I spent ages trying with my mate, took my boss less than a minute.

Washing up liquid on rim and tyre edge. If it is tubed, don't nip the tube with the tyre lever/screwdriver (like I did with neighbour's boy's electric trials bike!).

Try putting the tyre in the airing cupboard overnight to soften or what about popping in a pan of boiled water for a few minutes ?

I always used my mums best spoons on my push bike ,it always worked for me but I ended up with stinging bum cheeks

they come off and go back on no problem using tyre soap paste it up before u remove squeeze the tire rim in to center of wheel and remove with a couple of tire leavers . the first I ever did was a pig but dead easy now with the proper soap
