3phase aro mig

Hi guys. Can someone please help. I've bought a 3phase arocombi mig welder second hand, however it needs a plug. There is 4 wires coming out of it. Blue brown yellow/green and a black wire. Isit a simple case of wiring a 3 pin connector into a transformer and into normal 240v? Sorry I'm a newb with electrics! Thanks in Advance

What is it your trying to do? Are you wanting to run a 3 phase welder from standard domestic 240v single phase?

If this is the case it will not be possible unless the welder supports both single and 3 phase inputs.

Yeah preferably I wanted to plug straight into a 110v transformer into 240v?

How do I know if it will take a single phase?

3 phase is 400VAC!!!

It looks like it’s a 3ph 230v Machine, which is quite prevalent in some regions of France and Belgium.

Unfortunately it won’t be any use over here

Just seen the 400v on the data plate.

You will need a conventional 3ph 400v supply it won’t work off 115/230v

That appears to be 400v 3-phase only. Sell it and buy one you can use.

Doh! any idea on how much its worth ? AroCombi Mig-24 ?? or any use to anyone on here which will swap for a single phase with lowest of 30A ?

It would be almost the same cost as a new welder.

It wouldn't be worth buying. You couldn't utilize the full capabilities of the welder.
