there is nothing wrong with using arctic flex on fixed wiring if u want to or u can use flat twin and earth just make your drops in conduit if its in the garrage. 20mm plastic will be ok

Do not wire it in flex, its contravenes wiring regulations.
Do it properly with conduit and singles.

I'd rather a non spark used something other than SWA personally...if its not glanded properly its a liability...especially when people start putting bonding clamps on the armour instead of proper glands...

Real sparks use Pyrotenax

Or when people get a length of earth cable, wrap it around the armouring and then stick it through a hole in the cu and into the earth bar. Was in my brothers house when he moved in. Landlord was not happy with the bill for immediate safety work carried out

On a sidenote I was tempted to wire my garage in pyro, but the cost of the pyro and the stripping tools put me right off the idea...instead its getting plastic conduit and T+E
Supply is 6mm2 3 core SWA from the house wall to the garage wall, under the house floor is 10mm2 T+E (I have the remainder of a roll left) and same within the garage (have plans for an SWA upgrade when funds allow...)

Last time I used Pyro was late 70's as an apprentice doubt if I could remember how to make a pot off now.

ive had to shorten and repair a few pyro glands recently in a church imperial ones i bought a smaller metric pack measured the pyro drilled the pots a bit smaller and threaded them with a bsf tap and screwed them on . it worked a treat

Pyro is vile stuff...particularly when someone fails to mark which core is which and the householder has whipped the socket off already and got lose......black sleeving on both cores....

L/+ is this live
XM-1 is this neutral

Large pin is the earth
Other is the neutral
