3 phase motor wiring

Hi all

Sorry got yet another 3 phase question.

I've picked up a dual voltage motor to use with my inverter. I understand that I need to change the jumpers so that it's configured in Delta mode instead of the Star it currently is. However I'd like to check about the colour coding of the wiring, at present the wires are connected so that if I put the jumpers to their direct opposites then they would be

Red - Blue
Grey - Red
Blue - Grey

Do I need to change the wiring order so that Red goes to Red, grey to Grey & Blue to blue, or doesn't it matter what wire is paired with which

each phase is one colour. so any two wires the same colour are the two ends of one winding.

Typically, most motor terminals are wired so that with the bridges across, the motor is in delta, and with the bridges down one side, the motor is in star.

Looking at your post above, this is the case. With the bridges going across you form a complete triangle, going into and out of each winding in turn, around the triangle.

If you connected each colour together, you would end up with the phases in isolation, connected to nothing apart from themselves.
