or you can cut a slot between them all so that the current can't flow or how we do it at work use an ali plate as a gland plate. We use single cables a lot for the mains as they need to be very big

that's the baby the slits don't needs to be wide a cutting disk or jig saw blade is enougth

could u realy be bothered just one hole in original plate with a gland . much quicker and neater .try putting rubber grommets in them to protect the cable its not exactly 300amp cable where u would have to drill seperately to match the conections inside as u cant bend the stuff

actually less effort to just take the glands out and cut a slit with a grinder than go buy a bush and chain drill a big hole. dont have a 38mm hole cutter and id grudge buying one seeing as im already effectivly paying the landlord to upgrade his electical supply!
far as he's concerned i want 3 phase its up to me, then to add insult to injury he turns up yesterday with his mrs in a brand new bently

so long as there are no safety issues with cutting a slit then that will do me, but id rather spend the money and take the time if need be, prefere do it right than risk my life. comments greatly appreciated chaps!
