3 phase distribution choices

To properly connect multiple 3 phase loads to my RPC? Plug and socket arrangement at the moment, not ideal.

Exhibit A is massive but has lots of room inside which is a bonus...
Exhibit B is small, plastic (total ****e for putting glands into), but cheap...

I won't ever need more than 4 ways, and I don't need a neutral bus... I have a 6 way version of exhibit A kicking about already but it needs some work.

I'd go with 'A' for industrial/commercial use, as you pointed out, making off SWA glands into a metal enclosure is much easier.

If its liable to get knocked and you have the space then go for A but if not B.
Ours just has 1 MCB before the RPC the rest is just cable runs out to the sockets around the workshop.

A. That plastic is horrid with glands.

Besides, metal is always cooler

Have a look on eBay you might find a merlin gerin version of B in steel with a 3 phase bar in.

My RPC is a slightly odd setup with transformers (3x 4kva ones in parallel), idler and star/delta all in separate enclosures. The small 10" square box with the star/delta switching, start/stop buttons and boost button is where the 'main output' comes from, so there isn't anywhere to put circuit protection onto the downstream cables. I did think about just wiring the machines straight to this box, but figured some circuit protection would be sensible.
