No the point is those born before weren't either so it had to change. If it hadn’t snowed I would have.
That’s my point. Those born after a certain date aren’t competent to drive something someone who was born a day earlier is?

Also the world (roads) has changed.I know there has to be a cut off but it still ****** me off!
You could go out & get proper training

Absolute nonsense again. If it was that dangerous, there would have been a crossover period for those with the old licences to do their 7.5t test if they needed it. If they’re that incapable then allowing them to still do it would be gross negligence would it not? It’s a money making scheme and nothing moreNo the point is those born before weren't either so it had to change.
I think there should have been a cbt type affair to retain grand dad rights. Pass you’re fine, fail and you get a post 97 licence with the youngins. Having said that I think the new licences are more restrictive than mine which was one of the first after the change.Absolute nonsense again. Too open to fidling.i still think the towing tests (for car psv and hgv) should be done away with and a cbt style training should replace it. if the instructor considers you competent, off you go!
i do agree there are lots of people who shouldn't ever tow but i hate being treated the same as the idiots with no spatial awareness.
You cant remove an entitlement.Absolute nonsense again. If it was that dangerous, there would have been a crossover period for those with the old licences to do their 7.5t test if they needed it. so's everything else they could do, including the current testing process.Too open to fidling.
Eligible but incompetent is a sad state of affairs. SWMBO has convoys of horse boxes and trailers turning up here, I have to turn most of them around and point them at the gate because these "eligible" drivers don't have a clue
Bob
You try to bribe a DVSA examiner.so's everything else they could do, including the current testing process.
I see LOADS of adverts for that type of service but never ever yet seen anyone that has actually got a licence back for the money they send.never suggested bribing a examiner, but i know for sure right now there are a couple of dvla employees that can be bribed to add entitlements to your licence. its been going on for years. occasionally one gets caught and sacked... but they're like cockroaches, where there's one, there are more.
no process is perfect.
As for the CBT system, that is really bad with some trainers. They are supposed to take 4 hours minimum and I can’t remember how long the ride has to be but I think it’s an hour. I know two places that do the whole thing in under an hour
