Over 3000psi because they're used quite frequently on JCB implements and so on. My 2CX has them for the third function on the loader and that's running up at 230bar.

Not sure if they're airtight (after all hydraulic fluid is thicker) but I'd imagine so.

You can get Glenlock fittings in 3/4”. Crows feet can be dangerous if worn, make sure to use r clips and whip checks. Also look up macdonald couplings.

you don't say what application, but camlock couplers are very good and start at 3/4" and go bigger.

Thanks all, I have seen the claw fittings, so guess I will have to fit a valve to the feed pipe.

You need to consider the force (pressure and area), for a quick coupling, that needs to be overcome to insert it. For a 3/4" coupling, it'll be 4 times the force needed for a 3/8" and 9 times that for a 1/4". I'd expect a valve and claw-type coupling to be easier to live with day-to-day in most cases.

Please take this as an observation, not a critique. It may be picky, but it could be relevant (ergonomics) for the OP. A valve on its own will not allow you to disconnect the line easily. The valve only shuts off the supply. To disconnect, you then have to depressurise the line.

If the valve is on the road compressor and the only way to depressurise is to squeeze the trigger of the jackhammer that is on a scaffold three floors above you, it gets old real fast. Hence, in some situations a tee piece with two valves might work well (blow out cap for a concrete pipeline is a good example).

Self venting valves are available, and would be the obvious choice for this sort of thing.

The blurb says "the valve is suitable for air, water and vacuum". Would it not get a little messy if you self-vent it with water pressure in the line?

Yes ^^^^ I installed new washers, and now need 12" pliers to twist them on & off.

Ive seen one break away…..its not pleasant, hence why crows foot connectors are banned in some industries.
