That looks a little bit of a sore subject.
Was that just the one sting??
(I did like it for the honest confession not because of the circumstances)

I thought the same but should have considered that 18 hours prior they were rolling around being moved in the car.now that looks sore...why did it sting you? as i thought hive bees are placid if you walk calm and slow
I was about 20 foot behind the hive when stung and should have been safe.

not always brother had 3 hives and you could just sit on them and the bees didn't bother you. they get annoyed if u stand in front of the hive in there flight path then might sting as they think u area threat to the hivenow that looks sore...why did it sting you? as i thought hive bees are placid if you walk calm and slow
he got some of someone else and they wernt very friendly and bad tempered so he got rid of them

When my dad had bees it was mowing around the hives that made them most aggressive.

several good books for beginers on the subject .....prob a free download now.......
join ur local beekeeping club....
ALSO,
be vary careful, u may be extra sensitive to stings......if u get stung again compare the swellings and general health.....
look up Anaphalaxis symptoms....wont hurt to be aware.........

I had 25 hives and had to give up because of super sensitivity......I do miss em......

Hi. I have done the course and member of local club - my bees came from there apairy.
I have been okay with stings. Just think eye lid was pushing the limits.
I am building my 2nd hive today.

There was a beekeeper close to us & my wife went over to help & learn about them. The guy got a new lot of bees & they went mad they were so aggressive they chased people down the road, including me. In the end he had to get a professional beekeeper in to try to do something with them, he moved them into a field location hoping they would calm down, but he ended up killing them all. The professional guy said he’d never seen anything like them, you couldn’t get near the hive, they would have ended up on mass & killing someone

I've been keeping bees for about ten years. Like Frank I've developed a sensitivity to stings. Also agree about calm bees and aggressive colonies. I had one who would actively seek you out up to thirty feet from the hive. My present strain are absolutely laid back. I strimmed around the hive this week with petrol strimmer and they were completely unmoved. Anyway Mark good luck and welcome to the craft.
