2k primer filler recommendations

Been using the grey Upol which is fine.Lechler green is even better but more expensive at my paint factor.My question refers more to the flatting afterwards.I wondered if there was anything that gave similar depth but that maybe flowed out more smoothly to make flatting less of a chore?I appreciate there are fine solids in there but thought it worth asking anyway.

I know Langy is a fan, like most things we all use the stuff we get used to and get the results with. I am a big fan of Max Meyer as its the one my supplier issued years ago and ive never had an issue with it. Unfortunately there is no shortcut to getting a good finish to primer but i would considder it the most important coat for a decent job. I have been known to spray it on 3:1:0 to get a high build, guide and flat back 120 and then put a top coat or two on 3:1:1 for an 800 finish.

I use the Lechlar Green TI or Max Meyer 3011, either of these flow out to a near perfect finish that needs little flatting, unfortunately if you getting a rough finish its down to the operator i'm afraid.
I've always found both of these primers to flat out very easily to be honest.

Cheap primers are exactly that i'm afraid.

Steve, I know this is going to sound stoopid.....but can you get 2K primer in rattle cans...?

Not a stoopid question at all. the idea of a forum is to inform at all levels and not detract anyone from asking what they may consider obvious questions. No mate. 2k is paint and activator mixed the same as your filler. once activated, its got about 30 minutes shelf life.

eBay item no 110834797980 2k primer in can never used it but there's a button on the bottom that releases the hardener before you shake

Actually you can - they have a "widget" inside. There was some chatter about them here fairly recently. I imagine they're a one-shot thing (open and use it all within a certain time window), and iirc pretty expensive, but if a guy doesn't have a comp/gun etc they might be a decent choice.

Yes mate i believe you can, but i don't know why you would, aerosols are mainly thinners, can't see it building very well, at the end of the day i use the above and its always served me admirably, I see no reason to change.

Nick the reason you havn't heard of it is because you are a professional painter and i'm sure you wouldn't use a s***e product.

Fair comment mate. My issue to be honest is, if you have the compressor to use an air fed mask in order to use a cyanide based product, surely you would use the real thing?
