I can't for the life of me get this primer down. I was usinig Kapci 625, now I am trying Max Meyer 3011, and it's the same.
I have two problems. Firstly, I flat it, and it won't flat fully. there's this fine haze, crazing, that you can barely see, but when you see it, it's there.
Secondly, it cracks! I have used about 15% flex additive.
The tech sheet doesn't mention use on plastics. Is filler primer just a no-no on very flexible plastics (this is a very flexible BMW rear bumper).
I'm losing the will to live, but I can't give up. I've had about 8 attempts at this now.
I successfully painted a side-skirt which was already painted in another colour - I scuffed it and painted (metallic base, 2k clear), and it came out perfect. I just can't get this right, always horrible finish in the top coat, then the cracks appear as I try to flat it. Now I can see it's my primer that's the problem every time.
Any ideas
I thinned the 3011 filler primer to "medium solids" level, as per the datasheet. i.e. extra thinner.
Should I be trying a totally different sort of primer for this flexible twisty bumper? I want my garage back
