22-23mm ID Tube

Im having a few problems trying to get my hands on some 22-23mm ID mild tube local. Outside diameter is not that important, I can go from 0.8 - 1.5mm thick so a total max OD would be 26mm ( 23+1.5+1.5=26mm )

I can get a meter on ebay including delivery for about £10.50 but that seems realy dear.

Does anyone know somewhere online where I can order tube cheap, I dont need alot, about a meter but if its cheap then I may order a few meters.

Also going to need some perforated tube, not to critical on sice but about 1" / 25mm.

Or has anyone got some lying round I could buy from them.

Got to be mild steel sorry, its to finnish my expansin chambers for my RD350.

Got to be mild im afraid but if you have I can drop cash by paypal, I would just order a lenth of ebay but it seems realy dear just for a meter.

Its just the one thing now stoping me doing anything on the bike as the stingers are going to determain how the rest is going to fit together.

Without rumaging through the stack found a short 2ft length of 1" o/d with bore 22.3mm.
If you are doing what i think you are doing, must be very carefull to create the right amount of back pressure, whatever that is. I had such a problem 30 years ago £40+ pistons no rings, 8 hrs to run in and 3/4 hr to crack the skirts by the gudgeon pins.

Wow straight away perfict, Yeh I know about dimentions and presure etc, my pipe design is a modded design of Jolly Motos.

Jolly Motos use a 21mm stinger on a mild tuned pipe to give it not just mid range but make them peaky, its a trick they use but can cause to much heat etc in the chambers, my modds have been run through Moto software and while I will lose a little bottom end I will still have a slightly more peaky pipe without creating to much heat and preasure inside the chambers this is why I need a min of 22mm and a max of 23mm. BUT my design is not quite as peaky as the TZ pipes.

The design should give power from just under 6k peak at 10200k with a fair bit of over rev, so close to the Jolly specs with a little more rpm without cheating with small stinger. Well Hopefully

The TZ 350 would rev to 10500 but peak performance was at 9500 just because it is reving does not mean it is pulling! Why rev higher than you need?

Have you looked in B&Q? they have a selection of metal bits and bobs, not cheap mind.

I am building a peaky motor, its not for every day use, its for a sunday only flat out but I still dont want a full on race lump where I got to be rebuilding cranks every 500 miles, the RD cran is safe upto 10500 and a little more when the pins are welded up.

The TZ350 peak was dependant on year 9500-11000.

Yep tried B&Q, went to both near me, both had nothing above 20mm.

Shox Dr, Still will want those cones cut, just trying to finnish the pipes to make sure there 100% the right dimentions, ive ziped all the files so there all together now and will re-email them accross, there nearly finnished, just stinners and silencers now. Been a nightmare working on it with only limited access, found a place and should move in by the 20th of March now all going well.
How is the new punch, have you done much with it yet, did your mate attempt the RGV ones after?

It has to be mild steel, OD is not to important but the inside diameter is, got to be a minimum of 22mm & maximum of 23mm, so the thickness is going to determain the outside diameter, anywhere between about 0.8 - 1.5mm thick.

Its a lump that's for sure, weighing in at over 12ton. We've got some teething problems at the moment, only because we are using different software, and it's doing things a little differently to what we envisage, nothing to bad though.

I'll get costs for a sheet of .7mm Bright rolled steel, this week and we can go from there
