They'll be plastic covered steel.I noticed my mates German car had door restraints that were plastic...definitely fine for the warranty period I guess and saves weight too.

My mechanic was saying the same...he said if you drop something in the engine bay or try to stretch a hose out of your way it could end up costing hundreds!90% chance of them breaking if disturbed to fit a new starter motor etc, spendy to replace as they are a dealer only part £££
