2013 SWB Transit roof bars?

I haven't been able to find a straightforward answer to this from various roof bar suppliers. As far as I can see, the roof of the van has no mounting points or suggested places to put them. Do I have to use a specific bar and drill holes in the roof, or are versions for this model supposed to clip to the gutter or have some other proprietary fixing method?

Erm you sure its a 2013? That would the custom it doesn't have a gutter,does it

They're not screws, they're sycamore seeds! They do look very similar at that resolution.

The DVLA say it was first registered in 2013. It's a Mk7 not a Custom. The Rhino ones I have previously had a look at, and for the type of van they show them bolted to the roof implying I'd need to drill holes. Unless that picture's just a generic one to illustrate the 'aerodynamic bar design'... The ones locally advertised secondhand for the Mk6/7 also have holes in rather than gutter clamps. What's a good type of gutter mount one?

Heres mine i made up




2 clips are better than 1 imo stops the rocking,add a little bit of rubber strip in the gutter and underneath,helps reduce any paint damage,no rust streaks

Thanks all, that's really helpful. Plenty to go on, now. Especially Shedendman with those pictures. I'm not experienced with vans (it's my father's anyway) and didn't realise the gutters were so strong. Certainly there's a bit of rust around some scrapes and dings so I'd rather not exacerbate matters by drilling the roof and increasing the possibility of more.
