Further to my post on looking for a car for my dad, I have had a bit of a chance to look at it late this afternoon due to poor weather and family staying with us ( now down to one grand daughter).
I gave the engine bay a quick cleanup:
all good bar a broken plastic scuttle panel (under the wipers), ordered a good second hand one of ebay for £25.
New wipers arrived today and fitted as old ones had gone hard. They are the type with washer jets on the blades with a length of hose. Quite a bit of vegetation blocking the scuttle drain cleaned out and gave the engine plastics a spray with black bumper restorer.
Large boot is clean and dry:
pity just a space saver as room for a full size spare.
Multichanger in the boot.
even an unopened Jaguar first aid kit in the boot.
I am guessing the wheels have been restored as not a mark on them, not so sure about the four new tyres of a brand I have never seen.
old jaguar motorola fixed phone.
I have a set of fitted mats ordered and four wheel nuts: I hate locking wheel nuts.
Main jobs are:
1. Central locking not working, have tried new batteries and reprogramming the keys, looks like its the drivers door module faulty, will have a look.
2. Drooping headlining, just researching how best to tackle it or just pay a local coach trimmer.
So far so good, the car drives beautifully, great comfort and quietest car I have driven.
