mine can measure a midges dickmy tape cant measure gnats
Do it all the time. Never raised an eyebrowIf I went into a building merchants around here and asked for a 2x4 ,they would ask me to leave the shop and never return ,
Now who's backwardsJust ordered steel, confirmation came back
20 lengths 100mm x 50mm x3mm
Wonder if I should now ask for 50mm x 3mm x 100mm lol
I can understand how brains are wired can affect things differently. I have a problem remembering the difference when there are only 2 choices. But with multiple choice of 4 I get a lot more correct if the same questions are asked..lolLike I said above. It's got bugger all to do with America for me.
It's just the way my brain is wired
1x stock.
2x stock
3x stock
Etc
Haven't got a clue what your talking about.
Used to buying 50x100
And sheets in 2440x1220.
Round hear it would be “fower b two”
Now who's backwards
3mm wall 50x100
Funny. The drawers full of invoices for timber all list my way.
I use imperial measurements only for ordering. It's easier to say 2x4 than 45x97
??? When did you get that done ???must be a regional sounding thing but we ask for 4x2 and the x being "bee" sounding instead of "by" in our scouse native tongue..just like you its the way my brain is wired
What does plaster board or sheets come in
It always bugged me that if you buy 2" PAR timber it actually measures something like 34x44mm.
A guy in the shop told me you pay for the wood they plane off as well as what you get, hence it's called 2" PAR as that's what size your wood was before it was planed!
I don't buy cls. Crap stuff. It makes you wonder just how bent or twisted it was before they planed it! We send all our straight wood to export I think!
if you get batted by someone its allways a 4x2
