2" wide flat file??

As per title really...can you buy a 2" wide (or thereabouts) flat file? Needing something like it to get the ends of stainless handrail nice and square. Could do it other ways but file would be best I think.

Not going to say they do not exist but the biggest file i have ever seen was around 35mm.

You used to be able to get them, the ones we used to use were bastard files in that width, not seen any that wide for a while.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me but no doubt the answer will be along the lines of when you are swapping handles between files.

Golf balls make great file handles, just be careful and wear a face shield when drilling them, as some have liquid centres.

2" wide files are going to be difficult to locate. I remember seeing very large metal files in an old Blacksmith's shop, but that was many years ago. Consider a belt sander, it may also suit your purpose ?
