ive had several attemts at fitting and removing the crank from the casings because it would never line up right or it would crush the bearings to the point that it wouldent turn freely, so for the last time fitting it when i thought i had everything right, i gave the crankcase some taps with the hammer and it shattered

and its een more of a ba5tard because id been hitting the crankshaft before to get it in place but i mushroomed that and then decided to whack the case, so everythings a loss

Fecked???
If it as bad as it sounds, stroll to the fridge and open a bottle of decent cider, not namby pamby strongpecker, the decent stuff, and drink a toast to it. Then push it in the canal.
Chunko'.
why dont you like 2 strokes? messy? unreliable?, loud?!!!
ps, dont drink, not legaly old enough

since when did that stop anyone

Well ive rebuilt many many 2 stroke engines and ive done everone myself. Use the technique i shown and you should be ok. make sure you have a mallet and nylon hammer around. Just dont get mad with it and start hacking at it lol
Sure you have undone every bolt? sometimes one side opens and the other doesnt if you have

I've always used home made pullers to pull and push the crank in and out so the balance doesn't get altered and so the main bearings don't get damaged.
But only pull against the inner race of the bearing when putting it back together. You might also find the crank is a tighter fit in one side of the crankcases than the other (i think the electrics side, it may have additional tapped holes on that side for that purpose). so pull the crank into this side first. When all the bits are fitted the other cranckcase should slide over the crank a bit easier.
