2 stroke chainsaw-which part could be causing plug not to spark?

I have a manual for the 41 or the 140 But not the 141. Must be newer?

Why have you got the top handle off it? The screws that hold it on strip the plastic very very easily. The carb will be held on with two bolts

My two stroke strimmer is always a bugger to start after a couple of weeks. Stored with an empty tank.
My system now is to remove plug, pour in a fair amount of petrol. Ignition off. Plug out. Pull start several times. With plug still out, I use the compressor and blow air into the exhaust whilst pulling the starter rope. Then do the same blowing air into plug hole. Plug back in, choke, priming tit left alone, pull and it starts.
What a bloody palaver.

Yours may well have a different switch but it’ll all be pretty similar.
I’d still try a different plug though

HaBing stripped the saw down, I can see that a couple of parts are required. One is the rubber 'tube' in photo. It goes between the carb and engine.I don't know what it is called though in respect of sourcing a new one.

That is a very good find. What search criteria did you use to locate it?

The only other part that needs replacing thus far is a tiny green rubber tube (photo). It locates next to the black tube (photo). I think it is for fuel. Unsure if ordinary petrol pipe would be ok. Might be best obtaining the proper item?

Mart, I get most of my spares from lsengineering. They have a section on their website for chainsaws, most of the common brands are there. Husqvarna is there and there is a parts section your 141. Ebay can throw up some very cheap Chinese knock off parts too

any extra air will stop the unit starting split in fuel pipe, gasket split, etc

did you throw fuel down the bore ? and try a start this way it does worry what the state of the carb is like only the compression in the bore and if you got spark

My strimmer was similar, didn't get much use but always a pain when needed, my solution was to but a cordless one.

That is what went through my mind when I noticed the 2 parts each with a split.

It is in bits at the moment, but will try the things you mention if there are issues after rebuild.
