We're you using it on part throttle for long periods of time? as this can cause lean running on a two stroke, it's why bike racers blip the throttle on down changes as it adds a bit more mix in as they brake! WOOORRRRR WAHH WAHHH.... BRRIINNGG BRRIINNGG BBRRIINNGGG BUBB BUBBAAARRR
More oil would actually make it more likely to happen again...
As for "more damage" - the damage is done, it could be made worse but it won't make more parts required than already are.
The only extra part it might damage is the crankcase.
For comparison, I recently priced up a rebuild on a husky disc cutter that had been run on straight petrol - it needed the same as I'm guessing this needs. Bear in mind it was over a grand to buy in the first place...
Genuine parts would've cost more than a new machine.
Cheap pattern parts came to about 20% less than a new machine.
That's just parts, no labour considered.
