1mm mild steel sheet

One thought, is 1mm bit on the thin side?
I started off using this then blagged some 1.2mm, much easier to weld.
Dont forget always wear thick gloves when handling large sheets, and if it starts to fall leap out of the way, dont try and catch it.

good points there Chunkolini, yes 1.2 would be easier for me to weld with my stick welder, and yes I once had to dodge a huge universal grinder as it slide off a lorry very scary eek

It's normally 0.9mm for some reason, I get it from Charlie Watts in Rugby for about £11 a sheet of 1.2 by 2.4, or in real money, 8 by 4.

Does he sell steel as well as play drums for the Stones ? I used to get 2m x 1m for £6 from a local firm but they have disappeared and now I just buy a piece of 20g from the local car spares shop when I need it as I find I don't use it up very quickly these days and it goes rusty standing about in the shed.
