    Hi Folks,

just said id ask on the off chance.
I recently picked up a 79 Ingersoll-Rand compressor Type-30 model 234 that has a goosed motor. Just wondering did anyone have anything for sale that might do the job for me - single phase. There is no markings on the motor, so i dont know what it is.

    thanks!

Mines dated 1938 had a 1.5hp motor, it's now got a 2.5hp one fitted. The one in the pic looks to be 3 phase coz there's no capacitor fitted.
The tanks 1/2 inch thick unlike the one in the explosion above.

definitely single phase, my dad had it working for a while in standard plug good few years ago before dodgey wiring and spikes in the farm shed where it was killed the motor.
what motor did you fit? happy with it with the 2.5hp?

Yeah seems to work fine, actually wondering now whether it's a 3hp a mate gave it to me when the smaller on burn't out.
Will check later today, pretty sure it's a Brock Crompton.

What's the tubular item sitting above the junction box if not a capacitor?

Did wonder that seadog just looks a little small compared to the one fitted to mine.
