1968 Pipeline vid

I remember as a really young lad (5-6 years old) watching them put one of the main pipelines in that ran out from here. My dad took me over to see the sidebooms and 360's ripping up our neighbors field. MacBar were the contractor, I wonder what happened to them.

Saw an sae300 or possibly a 400 on a 4 wheel cart being towed along.

Meggit/heatric are still here and now have half of Holton heath. Every welder in Dorset has been through there at some point (I didn't though)

I dont believe Ive ever heard of MacBar but many of them only existed for one or two jobs. Id see the people again but the company name had changed...The only constant one was Murphys...

All those SAE genny had to be exported as they were too loud and broke the rules in UK and Europe.....unless they were Insonorized which was an expensive job.
