So, first off this is not at all new to me. I've had it for 10 years now. It's also _not_ a restoration. Not a drop of paint has gone near it.
It all started when I made a "comedy" bid on an old lathe...and won it for £149. It had been sold for scrap but the company who bought it considered it in decent enough condition to try selling as a "lathe" rather than scrap. They did take the motor though.
I won't go into the grief to get it back home. Lets just say mistakes were made and I won't be using that company again!
Anyway, this was what I ended up with sat in the garage.
...but that wasn't all.
On investigating the cabinet I found.
An 8in 4-jaw.
Drive plate
2 Drive dogs
Fixed steady
Vertical slide
Drill vice
Large face plate
A *full* standard set of change wheels
A 127t change wheel
A whole load of lathe tooling as well as reams, milling cutters and various bits and pieces.
Plus a WW2 Spitfire / Hurricane / Tiger Moth / Typhoon Compass that I promptly sold (for £21) as the paint they used to make it glow in the dark is radioactive and as they degrade the dust can be pretty hazardous.
On the downside of course it had no motor or electrics as those had been removed. It did have the original contactor though.
