165en gas not shutting off

When im welding, most of the time, when i let go of the trigger, gas carries on coming out the nozzle, i have to keep pulling the trigger then it eventually stops, keeps doing this quiet a lot and getting on my nerves.

After having a look into the welder, im guessing that this is the valve that opens and shuts and lets the gas through. Could this be the problem or could it be something else? And if it is the problem does anyone know where i can source one?

try cleaning out the switch in the trigger first that's your most likely problem

take the valve off the solenoid take it apart and clean it it may just be getting stuck, it would be an idea to check if there is a voltage at the solenoid when it happens if not thet valve is sticking

the wire feed would also continue if it was the switch

I took the noozle apart and gave that a good clean, but no joy there.

And it does seem like its sticking, not shutting off properly. Ive noticed i can source them from the weldequip shop on here anyway, so thats a relief as thought it might be a hard part to source.

I will take it apart and give it a good clean first.

And the wire feed does stop, just the gas comes out.

mine did the same the trigger was sticking enough for the gas valve but not enough for the wire feed relay

its a solenoid one must have been a tiny current

Easy test, pull trigger and let go, if gas carries on flowing then just pull one of the amp tag connectors off the gas solenoid (in your piccy) if gas still carries on flowing then its defo the solenoid valve and not an electricla fault as such
