150mm ish pz2 hex shank bits

I'm after some (a pack of?) impact rated pz2 bits which are reasonably long: at least 100mm, but preferably 150mm.

I go through a fair amount of them: at least one or two a week, so packs of 10 or so.

I've been buying cheap pz2 screwdrivers and cutting the handles off for use in the cordless drill (this might contribute to the lack of longevity ) but I want hex shank to go in the impact driver.

Recommendations for a supplier/brand?

I got some "Amtech" ones from The Range, and they snapped on first use.

The counterbore is 8mm, so the standard "hex bit holder" is too wide to fit into the bore where the screw goes.

I could rebore to 10mm, but it would be a lot of work.

Could you just make up an extension piece with an old Allen key and bit holder to take standard length bits? Or would access be a problem with the larger diameter socket?

I have several bit holders, from the standard 50mm up to 200mm, but the holder is too wide to fit the counterbore (which can be up to 60mm deep)

You can buy them off the shelf in the hardware store here.

Bosch stand and the dormer stand both have them

I have a couple for getting into places but they last me years as I don’t really need them.

I can find out a price etc? They’ll do a deal on a bulk buy I’d think.

It looks like the impact specific ones have a hex shank nearly all the way to the tip, so you need to work out the across points dimension of a 1/4" hex and see if it fits your hole.

Just Googled for ****s and giggles.

I use the normal length ones of these. No complaints at all. Even on the 1/2” impact with a 1/4 hex adapter I’ve not bust one

I realise thats no good if its existing work, but for assembling new stuff, much better.

Bought several sizes of Sabrecut. Used the PZ2 size mostly, and it's holding up quite well, so far. They're 7.15mm across the points on the shank. There's a link to them on the webpage that Brightspark linked to.
