I run a Clarke 150TE and would recommend them all day for the heavy end of hobby use. I've had it for approaching 15 years and with only a few new tips and shrouds it's never missed a beat and paid for itself many times over. Even at full power welding hefty stuff it's unusual for it to pop the fuse in the 13Amp plug so I've never had a problem doing heavy fabrication with it although it's far more common in my case to be working with stuff 3mm thick and downwards - car chassis and bodywork is the most common use it sees.
Might be worth giving an idea of the sort of stuff you intend to do with it though as that may influence people's recommendations.
I agree with the above post, I have a 160tm, which in real figures is 150 amp. Clarke say a 16 amp supply, but they are covering themselves, there are many on here that run them off 13amp plugs with no problems, might blow the fuse in the plug occasionally when on the max position. Get yourself a good quality plug & some decent fuses & you'll be ok.
I've got a 151te and it blow 15a mains fuse wire (have old skool rewirable fuses in the consumer unit in my garage) after a seconds use on maximum power, but its fine with a 15 A circuit breaker. and I'm using it with 16A plugs and sockets
