Some one has probably asked before, but I can't find a definite answer so here goes:
I have an RTec 140 amp inverter stick welder, 240v.
I want to install a diesel generator in the engine room of my barge, and prefer to get an old Lister not a new Chinese one. What output generator do I need?
I had a 5KVA Yanmar/Stephill before which was good for power tools but a light weight engine, we gave up trying to use a welder with it.
But those were transformer welders we tried and now I have an invertor..so, if I use an old Lister powered machine about 6KVA, with a heavy flywheel, I hope it should run it all day..?
am I being realistic? there isn't room for a twin cylinder really, a single cylinder Lister Petter would be favourite if powerful enough. I want to be using 3.2 mil rods on a single cylinder Lister.
thanks for your real world experiences!
