Morning,
Names Josh I’m from San Diego, CA. I just picked up my first welder for dirt cheap. It’s a Clarke Mig Weld 130e Mk2 110v. I did some research before I bought it and it seems Clarke was a pretty damn good business when they were located out of the USA. I guess later on they possibly went out of business and sold the company over to the UK. Anyhow I’m still able to get parts, tips, and anything else I can find for this unit. I need to source a bottle of co2 so I can start melting some metal…
The only bad thing is there is no polarity post inside the panel of the welder to go from GAS to FLUX. I’m pretty sure you could modify it to do so. Also the gun was a little FFFF’d up when I got it. It would rotate at the nozzle end that plugs into this brass block. The idiot that sold me I guess didn’t notice the set screw… Lol easy fix, and the trigger switch had some light rusting which was fixed with some 120 grit sandpaper. All in all I think this was a good deal for only….. 80 bucks. Hell cheaper than them FLUX only HF MIG 90’s “Automated stick welders.”
Anyhow hello and have a good one guys!
Can i convert it to use both flux and gas only? Does anyone have a write up on this procedure? Also can i add a cap as a filter, and what size?
