That is why its a problem as he has no car license either, only has a CBT. Be bloody easier if had a full bike or car license.

Ahhhh, I missed that. Well, you can forget quads all together then like that. Unless he goes for a wierd "B1" license that seems to be just for miniature 4 wheelers.

Anything you find is going to be quite a short term fix, he'll have to get back on a 2 wheeler to get another CBT in less than 2 years!

To stop people being "learners for life" and avoiding taking a test. Its a way to be on the road unsupervised with minimal oversight, and imho its meant to be a stepping stone not an alternative to a full licence...cbt isn't exactly onerous to acquire compared with doing the proper test.
A1 covers you for a 125
A2 is anything up to 44.6Bhp
A is unrestricted.

I dont see a problem with staying on a CBT if folk want to stay with a 125cc. It is them that need to keep taking the test. It doesy make them unsafe riders.

When i did mine the instructor said he has a few folk keep coming back to do it. One woman had been doing it for years, cant remember how long but she had been back many times. It was fine to do so aswell he said.

Then there is folk that jump on a bike straight into the full size A class bikes.

Now that is a dam sire worse as barley any experiacne at all, i would put good money oh a 6 year CBT rider would be as good if not safer rider.

Possibly not. I would think the money would be better spent on building some confidence with good tuition, especially seeing as the workaround we're all looking for doesn't seem straightforward.

I was on about this yesterday, I almost splatted an oink on a moped, he was sitting at the curb ,next second he just twisted the throttle and swerved the scooter into the road ,no indicator, no rear observation, no body language nothing!
The trouble is most of the L plate brigade are nobs with no intention of getting a bike licence.
