If youre doing loads, use a piece of 8mm plywood - mark and cut the curve as above to use as a template.
Cut a notch in each end and stretch a piece of string like when you made a bow as a kid.

I will definitely go with the concrete posts. I have seen someone selling rough sawn scaffolding planks pretty cheap - could be an option for the slats.
The panels are about the same price but the thicker the wood the better I suppose.

I just put some concrete posts and fence panels up, i found travis perkins to have the best quality posts, b n q and wickes along with a few other trade places were shocking quality, ironic that tp and wickes are owned by same group.

How much did you pay for the posts and panels? 120' gets pretty expensive!

£14 each for the posts I put panels in with top panels too they were not that cheap and i only had to put 5 in, i didn't really look for the cheap panels as it wasn't really an issue being 5, but by the time i had put the panels in and the tops, i had to double up on gravel boards in height and put them back to back as they became a retaining wall it wasn't a cheap fence.

I don't envy your job.

Just to add I have an account with TP but I had to use a friends account to get stuff cheaper, was a right pain but he gets much better discount than me.

I have seen posts for about £8 each on Ebay - I wonder if they are ok? I have a few builder mates who will let me use their accounts - funnily enough they all seem way to busy to actually do the job!

as what sg quoted those that do trade often get more discount than the normal guy and that includes people who are in the trade that may get 15-20% off some who have big orders can get as low as 35% off with what they buy and the amount they buy

its in all trades including the steel and many on these forums will get it as well when ordering steel

worth a look on ebay for posts , i got some and theyre dead smooth vs some builders shop ones look like aero's with all the holes and defects , was cheap too

Yup discount is more down to who you know, some of the posts at bnq were bent like a banana, impressive quality control.

Here is an uncomplicated way to build a quality fence. Use 2" scaffold pipe for posts, 2 x 4's for stringers, and your choice of boards for fencing. I built the fence shown using deck boards, which should last substantially longer than the rubbish panels commercially available.

If digging a lot of post holes is too difficult, pipe can be set in hard ground easily by renting a petrol powered post driver. The horizontal stringers are attached to the posts by drilling pilot holes and using self tapping metal screws, then boards nailed on as desired. By doing it this way, you can place the posts where you want rather than where they would have to be with prefabricated fencing.
