It's pretty flat bottomed, I can't remember what the deadrise is at the stern but it's low. I don't think it's going to do anything too untoward at sane speeds.

Foam camping mats, stick 2 of them down wherever your kneeling...bliss...lot easier on the knees and sort of tolerant to welding lol

Have a pair of DeWalt breeks with pocketed kneepads that I now wear, they are fantastic but sadly just too late in life starting to use them. They do however make my days bearable and although the knees still ache it is not as bad as before.

I use the seat base I rescued from a busted office chair for kneeling on....free and comfy too.

Things like that are not really suitable for what I do, always moving around and clambering over stuff on boats, can be kneeling on railings, hatch edges, hoppers etc so need something fixed to my knees constantly.
In the past I tried the type of kneepads that fitted with buckled straps or velcro straps and they just became uncomfortable after 10 mins but the ones I have now are great.

Those are really good and interlock (bought some for the old man)

I've got similar Costco ones as flooring in the shed - hence no welding.

I use two camping mats folded over and glued, when the get messed up just buy a new pair. Though knee pads are good too

I'll have a few repairs to do with the TIG. My ally MIG isn't up to par just yet, I'm out of practice.

Here's something I've been given. It's incomplete, it was put away wet, was siezed but now isn't, and has a few broken bolts and a snapped off gear-lever. I broke the bolts, not the gear-lever .

It needs a full strip down, probably two crankshaft bearings and a set of rings, plus gaskets, three broken bolts drilling and helicoiling and a missing recoil starter assembly. Oh and the carb is full of rusty gunk and needs a rebuild. I suspect the fuel pump is full of gunge too. But apart from that it's everything I have come to expect from a "free" outboard motor.

That looks a good motor for free......cost of spares may make you cry though.

No matter how good the water pump looks fit a new impellor, and give the water passages as good a clean out as you can!

I had one of those, virtually new in about 1985

I seem to recall it had a brass shear pin on the prop.
