110V transformer

Anyone know the cheepest place to buy said item?? Mines died, only need a cheep low output one to power the pug, all other tools are good ol english 240V/415V

NT are around the £50 mark dont know if this is good or bad??

At the risk of being , Machine Mart do a reasonable selection.
I think my one's the 3000.

Northern Tools are a bit cheaper though but I suppose it depends on how quickly you need it and how much they'd charge for carriage offset against whether you've got a local MM branch .

about the same as NT then, but they have a shop local so no postage....TBH Im a bit peaved at have to buy one just to run the PUG

Northern Tools delivery on a transformer will be around a tenner plus vat so MM would be the cheaper option if you can just walk in to a local branch.
Sorry to sound dumb Snowy, but what is a PUG apart from a very ugly (in my opinion )dog?

Straight line cutter, Mines actualy a beatle, but BOC the original machines were called PUGs so like hoover the name stuck...

Hi Snowie, have you priced them at Screwfix, some times their prices are no too bad? And I think £50 and over gives you free delivery?

You're not trying to run a 110v Inverter from it are you Snowcat? in which case stick another 100 quid & vat on top!...you need a 5Kva 110 transformer for welders, normal tool transformers ain't up to the job.

The smaller ones seem only to be a few quid cheaper.
I paid about £45 for mine from a local branch of MST.

Naa, mines 240V, was warned against a "site" inverter when I bought mine by a couple of pipe guys.

Weve one that runs from 110 or 240, needs a 30a supply on the 110v side.
Okay on big sites where its available, otherwise its out with the genny.
