it was trying to run away from the Jag rear axle, didn't make it,
bit of P40, good as new, the rear tramp arm bracket stuck right in, I was a bit annoyed, never know I could run that fast, it fell from about 4 foot,

That sort of thing can easily do some damage to your self, you go to lift something that should be heavy and it is un expectedly light, easy way to pull or strain something unexpected.

peel back the broken case pear inside with torch , if no damage to transformer former/coils ,plug in and test, if good repair and continue its use.

well it did explode, just not in the way everyone assumed, bits of yellow plastic all over the place, took a while to extract the axle, all good now although the drama continues, was cleaning the axle with my 4 1/2" Bosch grinder and a wire brush attachment when it spat out smoke, sparks and a strange noise, didn't trip the breaker but was dead, suspect the armature has left this planet, shame as it is not at all old, will replace with a cheapy, not impressed, down to one grinder now!

Exploded !
I'm no stranger to transformer explosions; witnessed two where they went off like grenades and blown the top off of telephone poles. One was back when I was a kid, and the other on my own property a few years ago when high winds caused a branch from one of our oak trees to come into contact with the transformer. The top third of the pole landed about 30 feet up the fence line and caused a grass fire. We were lucky, and the fire was extinguished before it reached the barn, but the ancient oak wasn't so lucky and never recovered. When you said the 110v Exploded you had me concerned, but I feel relieved now that it was from a physical accident rather than an electrical issue, as during this Pandemic lockdown I have had a similar transformer in the house for domestic use. I don't mind fireworks when I'm rockin'on, but not with my guitars or amps.
