110v odd colours.

Wiring on a 110v brush motor with a little variable speed board....

The flex on it has white, black and green inside.
Green is obviously earth, but the others, where does white go, L+?
Took a few covers off to see where they went inside, but all mostly sealed in.

Does it even matter which way they go on something like this?

White to neutral, black is live, green to earth, is it American, I have a 110v die grinder with the same colour wiring.

Sounds like US wiring colours (colors ) white is neutral and black is line/live or "hot" as they like to call it.

I remember the live on the American colour code as "Black Death"

Out of interest, as it's running on a transformer (site type) does it make any difference which way they go, except earth obviously.

No it won’t make any difference, as the output from the site transformer will be L 55v - N 55v rather than L 110v - N 0v
