10mm metric fine threads

My son needed one nut today it appears to be 10mm fine but even amongst a brewing bin full of nuts and bolts we just could not find one. Tried screw fix and tool station but they just list 10mm nuts. Does not even specify what they are... Although I know they are 10mm course. Where on earth do you buy them. They are actually of the coilover on a Nissan sx 200. No Nissan dealers near us sadly..

Once you've identified it chart a decent fastener supplier should have/get one for you.

The Japs seem to love them, I've got a few metric fine taps I use on motorcycles.

The europeans use them a bit too, the nuts on the top of some shocks are this thread.

Cars even have M7 and M9 threads now!

Big Pug vans I think use them on the steering pinch bolt, anyhow I picked up a handfull from a local fixing place as they are suprisingly common.

A motorcycle breakers is what you need. Many engine mount bolts are M10 x 1.25. The Suzuki Bandit has several of them.

Measure the thread and go to grahams machinery, never let me down yet even if your only spending 10p

M10 x 1.25 is standard metric fine, but you will also find M10 x 1.00 pitch. Need to get a thread pitch gauge on it really.

1.25 pitch is what it will be from my experience, but yes get a measure which will be in any basic tap and die set. No good guessing.

Thanks for all your replies guys. . Pete proved a point for me. He quoted 10mm x 1.25..but I think we agree metric fine is 1.0. Ebay sellers are saying the same calling then fine but saying 1.25.

Anyway I have ordered 20 for 3.95 of eBay so we will get one from a motorbike shop tommorow. And replace them all with new stainless. Keeping the old ones as spares. Lol

Can't see what else it can really. It's certainly 10mm but sod law says my super duper tap and die box is missing one tap..... Guess which one. Lol
